Professor Ali Sayigh
“Europe Leading the Way in Renewable Energy, Investment and Progress”
Professor Ali Sayigh, BSc, DIC, PhD, FIE, FIEE, CEng
Director-General, World Renewable Energy Network (WREN), Brighton, UK
The founder and chairman of the World Renewable Energy Congress (WREC) and the director-general of the World Renewable Energy Network (WREN), Ali Sayigh was born in Kufa, Iraq, and is a British citizen. WREN is a major non-profit organisation registered in the United Kingdom and affiliated to UNESCO. Established in 1992, during the second World Renewable Energy Congress in Reading, UK, WREN is an organisation dedicated to supporting and enhancing the utilisation and implementation of renewable energy sources that are both environmentally safe and economically sustainable. A graduate of London University and Imperial College London, Ali Sayigh is currently a professor at the University of Hertfordshire. He is the editor of several international journals, including Renewable Energy.
Professor Maurizio Caciotta
“Power Quality”
Maurizio Caciotta was born in 1945. He received the PhD degree from “La Sapienza” University of Rome in 1970. Actually, he is full professor at “Rome Tre“ University of Rome in the field of electric end electronic measurements. His activities are principally in the field of Power Quality, Perceived Power Quality, Signal Analysis and Cultural Heritage.
Professor Stanislaw Osowski
“Artificial neural networks for prediction of 24-hour load pattern in the power system”
Stanislaw Osowski was born in Poland in 1948. He received the M. Sc., Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees from the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, in 1972, 1975 and 1981, respectively, all in electrical engineering. Currently he is a professor of electrical engineering at the Institute of the Theory of Electrical Engineering Measurement and Information Systems of Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, POLAND. His research and teaching interests include the areas of artificial intelligence, data mining, neural networks, optimization techniques and their applications in different areas of electrical engineering. He is an author or co-author of more than 200 scientific papers and ten books.
